Station 6 of 8 · 200 m · Updated for the 2026/27 season
Farmers Carry
Two hundred meters with two kettlebells, deep in the race when grip is already taxed from the sled pull. The best athletes treat it as a fast hike with iron, not a shuffle of survival.
Weights (2026/27 season)
| Division | Men | Women |
|---|---|---|
| Open | 2 × 24 kg | 2 × 16 kg |
| Pro | 2 × 32 kg | 2 × 24 kg |
Technique
- Tall posture, shoulders packed down, kettlebells held slightly off the thighs.
- Quick short steps — cadence beats stride length under load.
- Grip the handles slightly toward the front corner; dead-center holds swing more.
- If you must break, set them down at a turnaround, take three breaths, go.
Common mistakes
- Sprinting the first 100 m and taking two long grip breaks in the second.
- Shrugged shoulders that fatigue traps and neck for the wall balls to come.
- Letting the bells swing, which multiplies grip cost every step.
Race pacing
Unbroken at a brisk walk or light jog is the goal for Open weights by race day. One planned break maximum for Pro.
How the program trains it
In the program: carries appear in Strength B from Week 1 (3–5 short heavy efforts) — grip capacity is built early because it cannot be crammed.
